Hi! I'm Jana! The maker and designer behind Silas&Ivy Jewelry Collective.
The dream kicked off in 2014. I've always loved making and found myself lost in designs on the regular as a child. I would dream up outfits and you'd usually find me behind my sewing machine. I completed 3 levels of fashion studies in high school.
I've always loved fashion and found myself slowly making accessories, etc for friends and family as sizing and fitting was less restrictive.
I started officially chasing this dream as a business in 2014 when Silas&Ivy was born. I needed a mental health break after years of studying business and picked up making stud earrings while finishing up my last year of the CMA program. The stockpile of jewels were growing and I needed to free up some space so I signed up for a market.
I've found my true style over the years, finding working with gemstones in their imperfect nature; a little reminder to myself that life isn't always what you planned.
I would describe my style as bohemian luxe aka fancy boho'.. I hope my pieces bring you joy! I love making and designing them just for you!
Who, what, where?
I make and design all the pieces in my home studio in
Calgary, AB. I source my materials from around the globe focusing on high quality, semi precious gemstones, metals, leathers and other found materials. I dye and hand-pour my resin earrings using an assortment of pigments, textures and sparkle.
I carry a small amount of curated goods that I've found during my supply orders. These items are marked accordingly.
I look to support other small businesses when I can through purchasing my supplies through a handful of family owned businesses in Canada, India, China, Israel, the United States and Australia.
I do small batch and one of a kind pieces. I love creating new things and constantly challenging myself to come up with new designs. I think its kinda cool to have a piece that is unique and limited.
Thank you for following along on my journey of creating boho luxe pieces for you. I hope you enjoy the creations I make.
